This week saw MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) release details about their excavation for Bloomberg’s new European headquarters in London. Waterlogged sites are always exciting because they turn up finds that you just don’t get anywhere else, and this is no exception. With entire Roman streets preserved, including buildings, fences and yards, as well as brilliantly preserved finds of wood and leather, this is definitely something to keep your eye on.
MOLA are even hoping that dendrochronological dating from the site will show that it is earlier than the current earliest evidence for Roman London at 47BC.
